What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is the process of applying powdered resins, along with pigments of
color, to the surface using an electrostatic charge. The free-flowing, dry powder that
forms the coating is then cured in a high-temperature oven until it reaches melting
point, allowing it to flow and form a smooth, skin-like film. When it dries, it forms a
hard, durable, ultra-resistant finish, that’s tougher than conventional paint
POWDER COATING CONSISTS OF THREE MAJOR STEPS
STEP 1
PART PREPARATION AND PRE-TREATMENT
Since it’s crucial that the surface to be powder coated is completely clean, all oils, dirt,
lubrication greases, rust and every kind debris are removed during the preparatory
step. Depending on the substrate to be cleaned, we use methods such as stripping,
sandblasting and solvent cleaning.
The chemical pre-treatment doesn’t just clean the surface; for instance, a special
primer prepares the substrate to receive the powder by increasing its bonding power,
for a long-lasting finish that you’re sure to take a shine to.

STEP 2
POWDER PAINT APPLICATION
Powder coating is usually applied with an electrostatic gun which imparts the powder
with a positive electric charge and sprays it on the grounded part with mechanical or
compressed air.
If the desired color isn’t achieved in this step, the powder coating can still be removed
and the work can be re-done in a different colour before the final step: curing.

STEP 3
CURING
The pieces are taken to our huge oven, preheated to 400°C, the temperature at which
the powder particles liquefy and “crosslink” to form a solid, network-like structure.
When the coat hardens, it forms an ultra-resistant coating with superb color and an
impeccable finish.

Powder Coating is the fastest growing finishing technology used today.
It is applied directly to the surface of the metal to be coated in its dry powder form.
Each powder particle contains the necessary resin, pigment, modifiers and curing
agent to create a strong,
High-Quality and Impressive Finish
But there’s more. Powder coating also
has the advantage of:
- Better environmental solution
- Superior resistance to wear and tear, compared to conventional paint
- Superb choice of colors
- A versatile solution that meets personal and business needs
- Better cost management
